Below basic and far below basic students outperform their mainstream peers

Digital curriculum narrows achievement gap

Year after year, students at a diverse California school had scored below students at comparable district schools on state exams. The most recent test results showed only 38 percent of the student body was Proficient or Advanced in English-language arts, and only 11 percent had reached these levels in Math. Most assistance programs currently running in the district were targeted at students who had already failed the state exit exam, but the administration knew it was time to change the rules and provide support for students before they had a chance to fail.

Customizable technology engages students

The administration at Lancaster High School knew that students scoring Far Below Basic and Below Basic on state exams needed more than just an after school intervention program. The Revolution K12 program was implemented as primary curriculum for these students, and Revolution worked with teachers to make sure they were well-trained and confident. Revolution K12’s programs gave students exactly the practice they needed to be successful and provided teachers with intuitive reports to guide instruction.

Underperforming students out-pass their peers

Both students and teachers kept their hearts and minds on a shared goal: a passing score, which was a graduation requirement. The result was a 75 percent first-time pass rate on the Math portion of the exam, higher even than the “mainstream” average for first-time test takers.

The students in our CAHSEE Prep math classes were given your product as their primary curriculum this year. These kids are consistently Far Below Basic or Below Basic in math and have failed math in the past, as well as math support. We ended up having a 75% pass rate for first-time takers, which was actually higher than my normal average for first-time takers!
