General/ordering questions

How can I obtain more information on your CAHSEE, Algebra Support, ELA Support and/or SAT and ACT programs?

Please call 877-463-8951 or email feedback@revolutionprep.com. We are happy to provide you with more information about our programs.

Are your programs aligned to state standards?

All of our programs are aligned to Common Core Standards, and in some cases state-specific standards. Please contact us for information on our state-specific standards options.

Are your programs ESL approved?

No, our programs have Spanish components, but they are not ESL approved.

How can I order additional program licenses?

If you have your local sales representative’s phone number, feel free to contact them. Otherwise, please call 877-463-8951.

Are there books that accompany your programs?

Our web-based K12 programs are designed to be completed without the need of additional materials. The exception is our on-campus, SAT, or ACT test preparation program, which comes with student workbooks and full-length practice exams.

My school currently uses the CAHSEE Intervention program. How does it differ from the CAHSEE 380 program?

The CAHSEE 380 program is designed to build proficiency for first-time test-takers. While 350 is a passing score, your school’s API score index is dependent on students scoring at the Proficient level, so we created CAHSEE 380 based on school feedback.

Logging in

I’m anxious to start the program, but have not received my login information. What should I do?

Contact your program administrator. He or she will have received a welcome email with instructions on creating teacher logins for the program.

I can't login.

Most usernames are set up as first initial/last name (e.g., jdoe), and most passwords are set up as “password.” If you are still unable to log into the website using this information, please choose one of the options below:

  1. Contact your program administrator. He or she has access to all teacher usernames, and is able to change teacher password.
  2. Call 877-463-8951 or email feedback@revolutionprep.com. Before contacting us, please ensure that you are using the correct URL. The correct URL for all programs (except CAHSEE Intervention) is http://online.revolutionprep.com. CAHSEE Intervention users should log onto http://cahsee.revolutionprep.com.

Am I able to change my password?

Yes, you can change your password. After logging in, please click My Profile in the upper right-hand corner of your screen. Type your desired password in the designated fields, and click Update.

Getting started

We want to schedule a training webinar right away. What information do we need to make this happen?

Please complete the TBS form (which can be found under the Support tab) and email it to k12training@revolutionprep.com. We will contact you to schedule a webinar training. Training requests for less than five teachers may be grouped with another school’s webinar training. Please allow one week to be contacted for scheduling.

My school has ordered the Revolution program, and my administrator has given me my teacher login information. How do I get my students started on the program?

Before your students can begin using the program, you will first have to create a class and add your students. Please click here for directions for creating a class and adding students. After adding your students, be sure to give them their User IDs and passwords. User IDs can be found to the right of their name under the Roster tab. Passwords are their last name. Once students have their login information, they can begin using the program.

How do I create a class?

When you first log in, the system automatically requests you to create a class. To create subsequent classrooms, please click + New classroom from the left-hand navigation menu.

I was able to access the program with my teacher login information, but I am unable to create a class.

Before you can create a class, your program administrator has to create a Session. To create a Session, your administrator must select Classrooms from the left-hand navigation menu. Then click Add Session. Enter the requested information and click Save. Once the session has been added, you can create classrooms.

Can I create one class for all programs?

No, you must create a class for each program you will be teaching regardless of whether or not you have the same students. For example, if you are teaching both portions of the CAHSEE program, you must create a class for CAHSEE 380 ELA and a separate class for CAHSEE 380 Math.

Enrolling students

How to I add students to my class?

From the left-hand navigation menu, click Roster. Then click Add Students. This will bring up a list of all students uploaded to your school. Check the box next to the names of the students you would like to add, and then click Add selected to classroom at the bottom or the page. You must do this for each page of student names. Please note that there are two tabs (Unassigned students and All students) and a search bar that allow you to search for students.

I was told my students were uploaded to the program, but I cannot find them. Were they not uploaded?

If you are unable to find your students, you may be looking in the list of Unassigned students instead of All students. If your students have already been added to another teacher’s classroom, they will not be listed under Unassigned students, and you should look for them under All students. Please note you may also use the Search bar to search for your students by first OR last name, or student ID.

If you are still unable to find your students, it is most likely that they were not uploaded. You can create a student account manually if your school has open slots. To create a student account manually, click the Add new student tab, enter the requested information and click Save. After you create your student account, you must add him or her to your class (please refer to the instructions above for adding a student to a class).

Where can I find my students’ User IDs?
  1. From the left-hand navigation menu, click Roster. This brings up a list of all students in your class. The second column lists your students’ User IDs. Their passwords are their last names. Both User IDs and passwords are case sensitive.
  2. From the Gradebook, hover over the name of the student whose ID you need, and click Edit. A box appears with that student’s User ID at the top (you can also change the student’s password from here).

Creating assignments

Do I need to assign my class the pre-test so my students take it immediately upon logging in?

There is no need to assign anything within the course, unless you want students to complete assignments in a different order than the default for the course. The program has an instructional calendar it follows, so each assignment loads automatically.

Upon logging in for the first time, your students will see a brief video and introduction to the course. After viewing those “assignments,” the pre-test will automatically load on their Active tab.

How do I assign modules to my students?

All modules will be assigned to students automatically as they move through the program. However, if you do want to assign a module before it would be assigned by the course, please follow the steps below:

  1. Select Gradebook from the left-hand navigation menu
  2. Hover over module you would like to assign at the top of the Gradebook until it changes to Assign
  3. Click Assign
  4. Check the students you would like to assign the module to
  5. Select a priority status (Due date is optional)
  6. Click Assign to selected students
I accidentally assigned something with Important status. How can I undo this?

Follow steps from above question. Make sure you have changed the status of the assignment from Important to Normal.

Troubleshooting

I created more than one classroom, but I am only able to see one. How do I access my other classes?

From the left-hand navigation, click the drop-down menu below Select course/classroom. Choose the classroom you would like to view.

I need to create a new student, but there are no Open Slots available. What can I do?

Students cannot be added without open slots. Please contact your program administrator to request purchase of additional slots.

I’ve noticed duplicate students in the system. How can I remove one?

Please call 877-463-8951 or email feedback@revolutionprep.com with the following information:

  1. Your name
  2. School name
  3. Classroom name
  4. Student name and user IDs
My students clicked “Finish” on the pre-test/post-test before they completed it, and the program scored it. Now I want them to take it again. How do I reset their assessment?

Students should click Finish only when they have completed the exam. If they run out of time during the test, they should log out of the program so that they can resume where they left off at another time.

If a student accidentally hit Finish, please follow the steps below to reset their assessment:
  1. Select Gradebook from the left-hand navigation menu
  2. Hover over Quiz beneath the assignment title at the top of the Gradebook until it changes to Assign
  3. Click Assign
  4. Un-check all students, except those you need to re-set the pre-test/post-test for
  5. Click Un-assign checked students
  6. Repeat step #2-4
  7. Click Assign to checked students – This will completely re-set the assessment
My students did not get to finish everything in the current program module they were working on before they had to log off. Will their work be lost?

No, their work will not be lost. The program records your students’ progress, and they will be able to pick up where they left off next time they log into the program.

If your students are working on an assessment, please ensure that they do not click Finish until they have completed the exam. Clicking Finish will submit their exam for scoring. If they have not completed it, they should log out rather than clicking Finish.

I assigned my class something with Priority status, and now that the assignment is complete, I want them to go back to where they left off in the course. How is this done?

If you assign something to your students (rather than letting the course flow in its predetermined order), the module following that which you assigned will load on the student’s Active tab next. To have them go back to where they left off before you created the assignment, you will have to assign the module you would like them to start working on again. To create an assignment, please follow the steps below:

  1. Select Gradebook from the left-hand navigation menu
  2. Hover over module you would like to assign at the top of the Gradebook until it changes to Assign
  3. Click Assign
  4. Check the students you would like to assign the module to
  5. Select a priority status (Due date is optional)
  6. Click Assign to selected students
My students are experiencing error message “Sorry, something is wrong. We are working on this right away.” What are my next steps?

Please call 877-463-8951 or email feedback@revolutionprep.com with the following information:

  1. Your name
  2. School name
  3. Classroom name
  4. What exactly you or your students were doing when you received the message

Miscellaneous

Are tests in CAHSEE 380 timed?

No, the assessments in CAHSEE 380 are not timed. Should your students not finish an assessment (or mentor session) during their class period, they can logout of the program and pick back up where they left off next time they sign in. However, they should not click "Finish" until they have completed the assessment.

I want my students to print out their homework and work on it in class or at home. How can I do this?

Homework that is assigned within the course will load on a student’s Active tab after the completion of a module (if it is determined that they need extra practice in this area), and thus, can only be completed online. However, you and your students are able to print additional extra practice pdf worksheets from the Library on the left-hand navigation menu.

What is the best way to keep my students motivated and engaged?

We recommend the use of student journals. Journaling ensures that your students are on task, and not just clicking through the questions. It also reinforces what the program is teaching the student.
